The Dragon Boat Festival, celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, is a time of great joy and excitement in China. It is a festival rich in history and tradition, honoring the memory of the ancient poet Qu Yuan.
Last dragon boat festival for me is different from the festival I celebrated before.I travelled with my friends in Nan Chang.Though I studied in this city,I never went to explore it.We happened to find a place that sold a variety of clothes ranging from T-shirts to dresses .To our surprise, these clothes were so cheap that I bought five kinds of clothes within 100 yuan.Ultimately,as shopping enthusiasts,we took the whole afternoon to find “ treasures”,even didn’t have a meal.
An essential part of the celebration is eating zongzi, which is made of rice and wrapped in bamboo leaves. Some zongzi are sweet, filled with red bean, while others are salty, containing salted egg yolk. What’s more,we bought some special zongzi, spicy but delicious. This is the first time for me to have such a unique taste of zongzi.
Then,we had a walk and talked about interesting things around us. Occasionally,a few bursts of laughter can be heard. As for us,this moment are very relaxing and valuable that could be thought of later on.
In conclusion, the Dragon Boat Festival is a time to enjoy traditional customs and to come together with family and friends. Whether watching the exciting races, having the taste of zongzi, or spending time with family members and friends, this festival is a cherished part of Chinese culture, bringing happiness and unity to us.
