There are many different versions regarding the origin of Dragon Boat Festival, but the most widely accepted one is commemorating the death of the patriotic poet Qu Yuan, who committed suicide by drowning himself in a river. It is said that his death made a lot of people extremely sorrowful. Some rowed a boat to look for his body, while some threw food such as rice and eggs to the river to feed fish and shrimps in case of Qu's body being bitten by them. Thus the custom of dragon-boat race and eating Zongzi has come into existence. In addition, there are many other celebrations in different places, such as wearing sachet and drinking realgar wine. Even though there are some different ways to celebrate in different places, these touching stories and customs have been passed down from generation to generation with the reproduction of the Chinese nation. These are also the treasures of the Chinese nation and even the people of the world.
In my hometown Longkou, we don't have very complicated activities to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival. On that day, we will eat zongzi and eggs. Of course, it is sweet zongzi. We will also hang wormwood at the door and tie the five colors rope to the child's wrist and tell the children about story machine of Qu Yuan. Although some traditions may be gradually ignored, the Chinese spirit represented by the Dragon Boat Festival will be passed down forever.
After reminiscing about traditional customs, let me share my unique experience this year. Different from before, this year, I traveled to Jingdezhen alone, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness on my first high- speed rail trip. Fortunately, the trip was very smooth. As soon as I got off the high-speed train, I went straight to Jingdezhen Ceramics Museum, where there are all kinds of beautiful porcelain. I also queued for more than 40 minutes to photograph online celebrity porcelain "无语佛". It was really interesting, so I bought a key chain as a souvenir. In the afternoon, after a short rest in the hotel, I started the second part of this trip shopping. I went to the Sculpture Porcelain Factory, Tao Yang Night Market and Taoxichuan Night Market and got many "trophies".It's really tiring to bring them all back safely because they are really heavy. As for food, I only tasted 油条包麻糍 and 牛骨粉 because I was busy shopping most of the time.
Although I didn't have a traditional celebration, this year's Dragon Boat Festival really impressed me the most. I also hope that everyone can always enjoy the Dragon Boat Festival in joy.
