Madame Curie was a famous French physicist and chemist in the 1900s. Her groundbreaking research on radioactivity laid the foundation for modern physics and chemistry. Curie was born in Poland in 1867. She again won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1911 by her discovering the elements radium and polonium, and separating radium and the study of the nature and compounds of this remarkable element. Additionally, because of this award, she became the first person who won the Nobel Prizes twice.
Curie's research not only advanced science development but also had profound implications for medicine, particularly in the treatment of cancer. Under her guidance, radioisotopes were used for the first time to treat cancer.
