whatis 命令用于查询命令、函数、文件等的基本用途，查询结果只是一句简短的描述。
例如
$ whatis ls
ls (1) - list directory contents
返回关于 ls 命令的简短描述。这个结果实质是来自于man手册的一个章节，在较新的Linux 发行版中已经使用 man -f command 命令取代 whatis command 命令了。
