He has crystal blue eyes, a small noticeable scar on his chin, a tall, athletic, more solid and muscular build, a thick brown beard and short, messy, light blonde hair, and he has strong facial lines and a determined look in his eyes. His name is Arthur Morgan.
Arthur Morgan is the main character in the game Red Dead Redemption 2. Although he is only one character in the game, he has had a huge impact on me and is the character that I empathize with the most.
Arthur Morgan is in a particular era of the American Old West, his parents died young and he began a life of living on the streets and committing crimes at an early age. But one day he meets his benefactors Ducky and Hosea, who teach Arthur how to survive and various fighting techniques. As one of the earliest members of the Vanderlinde gang, Arthur was the most reliable and capable hand of the gang's boss, Ductch.
But in 1899, the United States began to gradually move towards civilization, this group of extralegal gangsters, naturally, is slowly being eroded by civilization. It was also the year of his twenty years in the gang. Arthur regarded the members of the gang as family, and nothing was more important to him than the gang, the gang. Loyalty was his highest quality.
Although he committed many things, he still hid a good heart underneath his tough exterior. Later, the failure of a robbery causes a rift between the gang, the hideous face of the leader Dutch and the fact that he is terminally ill make Arthur feel anxious and confused until he encounters nun, the Arthur who takes life and death in his stride actually says in a rare moment that he is afraid and that his own hands are stained with sins. The nun points him in a direction at this point, to help others and to love boldly. Arthur agreed, and after giving serious thought to the nun's advice, he said he would give it a try, to try to love others with all his heart. After that Arthur was not as well as he had been every day, but he was still on the path of self-redemption.
The thing that affected me the most was that at the end of his life, he gave up his money to protect John Marston from getting out alive, regardless of his own life, and fought a fierce battle with the gang's traitor, Myka. In the final moments, the dying Arthur tries to pick up his gun on the ground, only to have it stepped on by Dutch. That was the last straw for Arthur. "I've given you everything" are Arthur's words to Ducky, and they are one of the most emotional. In the end, Ducky leaves Arthur behind and Myka walks away discouraged. Arthur struggles up the valley and calmly accepts his death in the rising sun, saving John and completing his self-redemption.
