In the workshop 1, I learned five modes of multimodality, which makes me have a basic understanding of it.verbal communication,visual communication,auditory communication, gestural communication and spatial communication constitute digital multimodal composing.And all these make it more vivid and more immersive.
In the workshop 2, I learned pedagogic metalanguage for videos, which makes me have a deeper understanding of videos.It has four parts,integral features of videos, ways of interaction, representation of ideas and interplay of meanings.Among these four parts,what makes me most impressed is ways of interaction.In this part, whether it’s out of focus or eye contact is vital.In addition, the color of the background will affect people’s mood.Furthermore, the angle of shooting will imply the power of protagonist.What’s more, the distance shows the purpose of shooting.And we can analyze a clip from these aspects.
All these can do us a favor when we need have digital multimodal composing,such as PPT, a common and frequent way of digital multimodal composing in the college.Only by learning new things like this, can we better improve ourselves.
