either和neither的用法

either 指两者中的任何一个，作主语，宾语、定语。

neither 指两个都不，作主语，宾语，定语，同位语。

either 和neither两者都可指人或物，修饰可数名词单数。of后跟复数名词或them，us.
1.either的用法
①作主语
Either of the plans is equally dangerous.两个计划同样危险。
②作宾语
Do you like either of these girls?你喜欢这两个女孩子中的一个吗？
③作定语
Either one will suit me fine.(两个当中）任何一个都很适合我。
2.neither的用法
①作主语
Neither of the books is of any use to me.这两本书对我都没用。
②作宾语
We like neither.两个我们都不喜欢。
③作同位语
They neither of them wanted to go to England.他们两人都不想去英格兰。
④作定语
Neither sister was willing to look after the sick child.两个姐妹都不愿意照料那个病童。Neither man spoke English.两个人都不讲英语。
温馨提示:
①either,neither作主语时，谓语动词要用第三人称单数形式。
Either of you has to stay here.你们两个中任何一个必须留下。Neither of us has been to the Mount Huang.我们俩都没去过黄山。
②neither作定语时，后面的名词要用单数形式。
Neither sister was willing to look after the sick child.两个姐妹都不愿意照顾那个病童。
Eg：1.A:I don't like eating durian. 我不喜欢吃榴莲。 B:I don’t like either. 我也是。
2.A:I don’t like football. 我不喜欢足球。 B:Neither do I. 我也不喜欢。
3.A:I have never been to Russia . 我没去过俄罗斯。 B:I haven't been there either. /Neither have I. 我也没去过。
Either...Or 和 Neither...Nor 的区别

1.I can serve you either a hot chocolate, or a cup of tea. 我可以为您提供热巧克力或一杯茶。
2.When the girl is happy， she either sings or dances.那个女孩高兴时，不是唱就是跳。
解析：此句中either…or…连接两个动词，因为主语是单数第三人称，谓语动词要用其相应的形式。
3.Either you or I am going there tomorrow. 明天要么你去那里，要么我去那里。
解析：either…or…连接两个主语时，其谓语动词应与最近的一个主语在人称和数上保持一致，这就是我们通常说的"就近原则".
4.Are either you or I going there tomorrow？
明天是你还是我去那里？
解析：助动词形式与主语you保持一致，所以要用are提问，而不是am.
5.Either you or he has lunch at school.一般疑问句：Do either you or he have lunch at school？ 是你还是他在学校吃午饭？
6.Either you or she is good at drawing. 否定句：Neither you nor she is good at drawing. 你和她都不擅长绘画。
解析：若要对either…or…句型进行否定时，只需把either…or…换成neither…nor…即可。
*either还可以单独使用，其意为"两者中的任何一个"。Eg：There are many shops on either side of the street.街道两边有许多商店。
2.Neither...Nor 既不...也不...
1.I can serve you neither a hot chocolate, nor a cup of tea. 我既不供应热巧克力也不供应茶。
2.I have neither the time nor the patience to listen to your stories. 我没有时间也没有耐心听你讲故事。
3.She likes neither butter nor cheese.她既不喜欢黄油也不喜欢。
解析：neither……nor…连接两个宾语。当neither…nor…连接两个主语时，也应遵循"就近原则"
4.Neither dad nor mum is at home today. 今天父母都不在家。
解析：若将neither…nor……句型变为肯定句，只需把neither…nor…改为both…and…
*neither作主语还可以单独使用，表示"两者中没有一个".Eg：Neither of them likes football.他们俩都不喜欢足球。
注意：neither或nor还有另外一种用法，就是当表达一个人没有做某事，另一个人也没做同一类事时，可用neither或nor进行简略回答其结构为：Neither / Nor+助动词 / 情态动词 / be动词+主语。
Eg：A:He doesn't go to school by bike.他不是骑自行车上学。B:Neither / Nor do I.我也不是。
